Yosemite vacation...

Well, I guess I didn't finish posting about our vacation...so I will just post a few more pics.

After we all left the cabin, Josh and I stayed another day in Yosemite and did some more hikes. We passed by this beautiful hotel, Wawona Hotel, and we decided to stop to see if they had any rooms available. They did!! It was beautiful!

After we checked in, we went to a beautiful, expensive dinner together at the hotel restaurant and then we sat out on the lawn most of the night, just laughing and talking. It was fun.

The following day we headed out of Yosemite and saw a Resort just outside of Oakhurst. It was the Chuckchansi Gold Resort and Casino. It looked nice so we decided to stop and stay the night. Our room was awesome...King bed, huge flat screen tv, awesome bathroom with an awesome tub.

The next day, we check out and went to visit Mike & Sherry. We stayed the night. We had a great time with them (and a great dinner!). We enjoyed seeing them.

That's it...we headed home and slept all day! :)

Vacation- Bike ride through Yosemite Village

We enjoyed a nice leisurely stroll on our bikes through the valley of Yosemite with everyone. The scenery was beautiful and we made a lot of great memories.

Fire in Yosemite

During the first day of our stay, the U.S Forest Service conducted a prescribed burn that got out of hand. It caused some road closures and a lot of smoke in the valley. Here are some pics of the smoke on Saturday. Thankfully it cleared up a little the following day. :)

Cienaga Creek Ranch

Josh and I decided to book a last minute get-a-way to Cienaga Creek Ranch in Big Bear this past Thursday and Friday. I called the ranch on Wednesday 8/20 hoping that they would have something available for us on Thursday 8/21...and they did! We booked the cabin for two nights and headed off to our beautiful cottage up in Big Bear. I have been doing some research of different places we want to visit that are dog friendly. And Cienaga Creek Ranch was on of those places.
As we drove up to our cottage, we were very excited to see it perched up on a hill in a secluded area. As we walked into the cottage we were greeted by some soft music playing in the background and the smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls. Oh were they delicious! Vicki, the owner, added a lot of personal touches to our stay. Her and her husband own 50 acres of land and they built 5 beautiful cottages on their property. Because there land is private property they allow dogs to be off leash the entire stay. Which is fantastic for the dog lovers out there! Tucker was able to run free the entire trip. We all went on some hikes and enjoyed exploring several different trails. Tucker loved following Josh on the trails and was very adventurous for a pup.
Our trip was a blessing and we plan to go back in January or February sometime when there is snow on the ground! Cienaga Creek Ranch is going to be a yearly get-a-way for us! You all have to join us. Most of the cottages sleep 4-6 people. Let's plan it!!

Camping...

We had a very exciting weekend! We went tent camping with family and friends (12 of us to be exact). We had such a good time. It's to bad we can't plan trips like that more often.
Josh and the guys went hiking and found other crazy activities to keep them busy...while the girls just enjoyed eachother's company and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. For dinner we ordered pizza! lol. It was delicious! The best part of our trip was the bonding we got to do with everyone. We love spending time with people we love. Thanks to everyone who joined us. We have to do it again...soon!
The next trip is the beach! Get ready!

Josh went back to the fire station today. He will be home on Sunday. I might go up to visit him on 4th of July during the day. They are having a "family" day.

As most of you know, Josh is in the process of his "field investigation" for LAFD as well as other fire departments. Everything seems to be going very smooth. Thanks to all of you who have turned in the background papers for Josh. We will keep you updated on the progress.

God Bless!
