Dear Lord...

Lord,
I pray that you will bless the work of my husband's hands. May he never run from work out of fear. May he never wither under pressure, but grow strong and prosper. Lord, I pray for Your protection of Josh's mind. Shield him from the lies of the enemy. Help him to clearly discern between Your voice and any other. Give him strenght to resist lying thoughts. Where the enemy's lies have already invaded his thoughts, I push them back by inviting the power of the Holy Spirit to cleanse his mind. Be with him Lord. Give him peace of mind.
Protect his body. If anything in his body is out of balance, restore it to working order.
Thank you for your blessings.
In Jesus name, Amen.

My husband...

Josh got called in to work today! It was very unexpected. My first impulse was to sit down and cry. He is leaving once again for who knows how long. We weren't expecting such an early departure. We had plans today (a picnic in the park...a bike ride and a movie) But I had to be strong for him. I had to show him that I would be fine. After all, thats my role as a fireman's wife.
He jumped in the shower, shaved, and then put on his uniform. As I sat there watching him...tears began to fill my eyes. I am so proud of him.
He finished getting ready. We sat on the couch, embracing each other for a few minutes. I was taking him in...his touch, his smell, his love. His embrace and his words comforted me. And then he began to pray. We prayed for God's comfort and His protection. Josh kissed me goodbye and grabbed his bible and left for work.
My husband...a special kind of man....a man of God.

As I sat in front of my computer to write...I noticed a beautiful, fresh cut rose sitting on my keyboard.....

Blessings!
Angela

A Prayer

A Wife's Prayer

Lord, I ask You to be with my husband
In a very special way
As he faces the challenges
Of a firefighter's day.

I pray that You will help him
To be the best that he can be
For there are many people
Who do depend on him, indeed.

And when duty calls to danger
Walk closely by his side
Instill in him great courage
Please be his strength and guide

Lord, I put his safety in Your hands,
But in the chaos and the strife
Help him act with selfless courage
Help him save a life.

Amen!

(...I just wanted to share this prayer I found on the internet... Thanks! )

America's Heroes

There is no simple answer to the question of what drives someone to be a hero. Some experts say that people spurred to heroism are that way because they have a profound respect for human life...or because they have a strong sense of empathy and self-esteem. Moral courage and physical strength also are important contributors to the trait of heroism. There may even be a biological component: some people just have it in their blood to be heroes.

The trait of heroism lives somewhere inside all of us. Hopefully, we never have to face a moment that requires us to act heroically. But as they events of September 11 showed the world, when that moment arrives, America's heroes respond without hesitation.

Thank you to all our heroes. Thank you to those of you who were nowhere near the attack sites and still did all you could do. You gave blood. You donated money. You flew flags. You said prayers.
Today and for years to come, our heroes will never be forgotten.
More importantly, Thank you to all who still choose to become firefighters. Being a firefighter is not a profession, it is a way of life. It's not a job that they perform, it's what they believe in.

Lord, I pray and thank you for the heroes that gave so sacrificially on Sept. 11. Help me to remember their courage and learn from them. Lord, heal all those who lost their loved ones, their heroes that day. May they come to experience your presence and know your peace. In Jesus name, Amen.

Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

od Bless you all!

There is not one but two heroes in my life. First is Jesus, my savior. Second is Joshua, my Husband. Thank you Joshua for being my hero. I give tribute to you and pray that God keeps you safe as you work so hard to keep people safe. I love you!!
